Troop Leadership Training

Post date: Sep 16, 2013 11:45:41 AM

Congratulations to six Scouts who completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) training. The ILST course teaches Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. It helps Boy Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their responsibilities and to equips them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Boy Scouts. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Boy Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE).

Completion of this training entitles the Scout to wear the "Trained" patch on the left sleeve next to his badge of office. This is the first time ILST has been offered for Troop 114.
