Scoutmaster's Note—One of our goals as part of the Journey to Excellence quality program is to send senior scouts to NYLT, the flagship youth leadership training course in Boy Scouts. This summer the council is offering two opportunities, at Camp Storer (Barnstead NH) and at Camp Lone Tree (Kingston NH). I ask scouts who want to enhance their leadership skills and help bring the troop to the next level, please consider this opportunity. The cost is less than a week at Provo camp, and the benefit to the scout and the troop is greater.

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide all 13- to 20-year-old youth members of the Boy Scouts of America, both male and female, with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home units and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.

Course Information

Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts must be at least 13 years of age, must be at least a First Class Scout and have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST). Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts and Venturers must also be recommended by their unit leader. Note: There is an orientation meeting for all registrants, their parents and their Scoutmasters.
