This will be our best rafting trip ever! Because it isn’t going to be just a raft trip. Sure, there’ll be rafting on the Kennebec River. Of course, all kids can go down the river (those under 12 will be in the raft but won’t have to paddle). On Saturday, we’ll test our nerves and teamwork skills on the ropes course! For those who already have swimming and canoeing merit badges, you could also leave the trip with Whitewater merit badge. Plan on tons of soaking wet fun!
An Old Style trip - scouting with tents in the snow and cooking on open fires!
Activities will include Winter Tent Camping, Cooking over open fire, Hiking, Sliding if there is any snow and Sunday breakfast at a Maple Sugaring factory with a tour of the facility.
Join us for this traditional trip for Webelos and Scouts to learn and practice basic and advanced scouting skills. This year, we plan to build a tower!
This will be a campout emphasizing winter backpacking skills and cold weather fun. We will be hiking on snowshoes into Lonesome Lake Hut in the White Mountains. The hut offers a heated main room with a full kitchen and unheated bunkrooms. A more advanced hike in and/or opportunity to try more technical winter climbing (ice axe / crampons) is possible for the older scouts.
The trip will be preceded by a workshop on snowshoe backpacking at one of the local camping equipment stores (REI or EMS).
