The Horsemanship Merit Badge Information and Permission Slip

This will be a campout emphasizing winter backpacking skills and cold weather fun.  We will be hiking on snowshoes into Lonesome Lake Hut in the White Mountains.  The hut offers a heated main room with a full kitchen and unheated bunkrooms.  A more advanced hike in and/or opportunity to try more technical winter climbing (ice axe / crampons) is possible for the older scouts.

The trip will be preceded by a workshop on snowshoe backpacking at one of the local camping equipment stores (REI or EMS).
